Practical Designer Notes—Test Before You Commit

• Always test in black and white first. Santa Hangout relies on contrast and shape—not color—to communicate. If it reads weakly in grayscale, it’ll falter on packaging or print.
• Check small-size performance early. Render it at 14pt on a mockup of a product label or sticker. If the ‘g’, ‘y’, or ‘p’ descenders vanish into the baseline, scale up or simplify.
• Try it beside what you already use. Does it pair with your existing serif font? Your go-to sans? Does it clash with another script font in your library? Santa Hangout plays nicely with sturdy serifs (think Playfair Display) and airy sans serifs (like Poppins Light), but avoid pairing it with overly decorative handwritten fonts—that’s visual competition, not harmony.
• Compare uppercase vs. lowercase rendering. Uppercase is bolder and more stable—ideal for logos or banners. Lowercase is more intimate but needs generous spacing. Adjust tracking manually if needed; don’t rely on default auto-kerning.
• Verify commercial licensing—without exception.
